Local MMA Fighter Maintains WEC Featherweight Belt at ARCO Arena
June 1, 2008
Local MMA fighter Urijah Faber took on the only other man who could stop him in his steam roller of a ride as the World Extreme Cagefighting’s feisty featherweight division. The talk of the town for month’s leading up to the big event, locals from Davis to Folsom have been talking about the historic match-up.
Faber, already the featherweight champion and former NCAA wrestling god at UC Davis, had been chided by some as not having taken on any major fighters. Jens Pulver is known and respected by any real fan of MMA as the major fighter who would put Faber down - he did not.
“I didn’t really tell anyone that I was going to stand because I don’t want to hear people tell me not to do it. I know how good my hands are. I’ve been working on them for five friggin’ years now.” - Faber Full Story »

Sacramento’s CENTRO Celebrates Cinco Like No Other
Paragary’s downtown Mexican restaurant is hands down the best party tonight
May 5, 2008
Sacramento will surely pack local venues for Cinco de Mayo tonight, but the best spot is Centro’s outdoor party. No other venue comes close to kicking down a fiesta vibe like this one. The aroma of carnitas and corn tortillas on comales mixed with the sounds of salsa and the scent of Tequila in the air make this spacious gathering a favorite. Nightclubs will of course be running specials on drinks and waving the Red, White and Green - but if you really want to experience a Cinco de Mayo party, this is the one.

Brotherly MC duo signs to label and heads to Sacramento May 4
May 3, 2008
The first gig we did with HardNox was an informal tour around Lake Tahoe in the summer of 2004. When all was said and done, they got booked at MontBleu’s showroom where they opened for E 40, and the nightclub, Blu. Before that, they performed at Squaw Valley’s only nightclub, ZenBu where local ladies went nuts on the dance floor for tunes like “White Girl Who Can Dance.” Eventually, they became a regular with DJ Slick D on New Year’s Eve at Hard Rock on Stateline.
