Paragary's Bar and Oven
1401 28th St.
(916) 457-5737

(Taken from website) Established in 1983, Paragary's was among the first to introduce Sacramento to a style of cooking based on local, seasonal products. The cooking of Northern Italy and Southern France inspires simple preparations from the wood burning oven and charcoal grill. The full bar and a compact wine list of mostly Northern California varietals complement the frequently changing menu. Paragary's Bar and Oven provides what is perhaps the city's most unique outdoor experience amidst gnarled olive trees, lush plantings, waterfalls, and a massive stone fireplace.

The original local late nite diner. It seems like only yesterday Chris Nestor opened Ink, but it's been nearly three years now and it's as popular as ever with the late night crowd and the lunch crowd is respectable too. Known by the "club crowd," as the only legitimate place for good food at unreasonable hours, Ink is a mainstay. Check their website for the schedule of wine tasting's and other special events. Interestingly, local restaurateur, Randy Paragary, used to run his game here but shut the doors. Chris Nestor and Co. not only moved in, but has replicated nearly the same exact move on Paragary's Sammy Chu's. Things that make you say, "Hmmmmm."
