It was the end the US West Coast tour, but Carlos was not about to rush home. "We talked to the management of this venue and told them that we wanted to play past curfew and they said okay. So we're gonna play 'till we're done." Santana and co., went on to play 35 years worth of hits as well as new upbeat tunes under a harvest moon and cool breeze. And although the best seats in the house were all sold out up front, the panoramic view from the field was spectacular. Santana has about a week off before heading back out on his US Easy Coast Tour with his son, Salvador, who will be opening for him. For you locals in the know, you might have seen Salvador jam at the Sky Bar downtown or with Ozomotli last winter at Sac State. An excellent modern version of his father with a latin flare blended with a pinch of hip hop. |
