The Van's Tahoe Cup was up for grabs over this past weekend at Northstar at Tahoe along with $200,000 in cash prizes for the best men and women on snowboards and of course, Sacvibe/Tahoevibe was on deck for the Best All 'Round (BAR) action. The final results are in and can be checked at World Cup Scoring here.
The Friday Van's Rail Jam kicked things off with graffiti artists and a live DJ as well, of course, as the competition. Winners Wyatt Caldwell and Leanne Pelosi took top spots for the night as about a thousand onlookers wondered how in the hell they do that stuff.
On Saturday, it was Danny Kass and Hannah Teter taking the top honors in the superpipe and Sunday, it was the Best All 'Round (BAR) where big air and techical execution was the name of the game. The weather was picture perfect in the moring with blue skies but by noon, mother nature reminded everybody who was really running the show. A few injuries also reminded everybody how serious this stuff really is.
We ran into hotelier and pro-boarder, Mark Frank Montoya in the media tent - what a nice guy. Thanks to Vans, Northstar, Snowboarder Magazine and the kind ladies at the VIP tent for making this an awesome weekend for everybody.
